About me

For more than 20 years, I have worked in finance, from audit at Ernst & Young to CFO. Since 2011, I have held senior finance roles in the Rocket Internet group, the Berlin-based incubator that builds and scales internet companies worldwide. At Helpling, an international group with subsidiaries in several countries, I shaped the finance function over eleven years and most recently led it as CFO. My responsibilities included group-wide planning and reporting, M&A transactions and investor relations with VC and PE shareholders.

With Arthaweg, I support companies that need finance expertise at the level of a CFO, Head of Finance or Senior Finance Manager, whether to bridge a vacancy at short notice, on a regular basis with limited time commitment, or for defined projects such as financing rounds, transactions or setting up planning and reporting.

Whether I step in at short notice or support a company over a longer period, I work closely with founders and management. I start with an honest review of the current state, followed by clear priorities and agreed deliverables. I involve the existing team so that processes and know-how stay in the company after the engagement ends. What I expect in return is direct access to decision-makers and open information.

I hold a degree as Diplom-Kaufmann (FH) in business administration, specialising in accounting and controlling as well as entrepreneurship and SME management. My diploma thesis on converting German GAAP (HGB) financial statements to IAS/IFRS led directly into practice: I then managed the IFRS opening balance project at EMB Erdgas Mark Brandenburg GmbH.

I cover the entire finance function: FP&A and controlling, accounting under HGB, IFRS and US GAAP, and finance systems, including a group-wide ERP implementation (NetSuite). I have been responsible for every finance process in a company, from accounting to investor reporting, and know each step from hands-on experience.
